My Story

Hi, I’m Lauren. For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt compelled to help people. Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in the healthcare non-profit world, where I spent years witnessing people navigate some of life’s toughest moments. That work taught me so much about resilience, compassion, and the importance of feeling truly seen and heard.

I also spent time working as an Assertiveness Facilitator for high school students, teaching them about confidence, communication, and standing up for themselves. It was there that I discovered my passion for working with teens and supporting them through such a pivotal and often messy time in their lives.

On a personal level, I know the feeling of being stuck all too well. For a long time, my past experiences kept me trapped in old patterns. It wasn’t until I discovered EMDR that I started to notice real change. Working through my own experiences with EMDR transformed how I live and led me here, wanting to support others in navigating life’s challenges and living in a way that feels more authentic and free.

I’m also a parent to two kiddos who keep me on my toes and remind me daily of what really matters – like making sure there are always enough snacks in the house. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me squeezing in a quick workout, spending time in nature, catching up with friends over coffee, or curled up on the couch watching reality TV (yes, all of it – from RuPaul’s Drag Race to Love Island).

I bring a grounded, real, and compassionate approach to my work, and I believe in keeping things honest – with a healthy dose of humour along the way. Life is messy, and therapy with me is a place where you can show up exactly as you are and make sense of it all.
