Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)?
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), which means I am registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. I hold a master’s degree in counselling and have completed supervised clinical training. As an RCC, I provide therapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups, and I am committed to practicing ethically and professionally. Many extended health benefit plans cover services provided by RCCs, so be sure to check with your provider.
What is EMDR, and do you use it exclusively?
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It’s a therapy approach that helps people process and heal from distressing or traumatic experiences. EMDR works by using bilateral stimulation, like eye movements or tapping, to help your brain reprocess memories and reduce the emotional charge they hold. Many people find it helps them feel less stuck and more at ease in their day-to-day lives.
No, I don’t use EMDR exclusively. I incorporate other approaches as well. If EMDR isn’t something you’re interested in, we can use different therapeutic methods that best fit your needs and goals.
Do you offer in-person or online sessions?
I offer both! In-person sessions are held at OneSpace, located at 1187 Odlum Drive in East Vancouver. Online sessions are also available for your convenience.
What days and hours do you work?
I currently work on Mondays and Wednesdays, with evening appointments available on Mondays. For more information about my schedule, click here.
Why did you call it Lily and Wren Counselling?
I chose the name Lily and Wren Counselling because both the lily and the wren hold deep meaning for me. Lilies symbolize growth, renewal, and hope, while wrens are small but strong birds known for their resilience and adaptability. Together, they reflect the heart of my work – creating a space where people can find their strength, grow through challenges, and reconnect with their sense of hope. The initials of Lily and Wren are also the same as mine, which makes it feel even more connected and personal. And honestly, I just thought it was fun to add little wrens doing human things on my website.
